Ruby Rushton - 10 Years Of 22a

22a has established itself as one of the most respected and important independent labels in the UK jazz and underground music scene.

With support and praise from some of the leading tastemakers in the world including Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, The Guardian, and Clash, to only name a few, the South London based imprint was founded by DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Tenderlonious back in 2013, and quickly developed a back catalogue of music spanning house, hip-hop, jazz, garage, soul, Indian classical and jungle.

For this special 10 year anniversary label party, Tenderlonious led jazz quartet Ruby Rushton will be performing their debut album Two For Joy in full alongside new material.

Ruby Rushton are one of the leading, most forward thinking and prolific bands to emerge from London's thriving jazz scene. Their music is rooted in the spiritual concepts of jazz heroes such as John Coltrane and Yusef Lateef, whilst adopting influences from hip-hop, afrobeat, bebop, jazz-funk and sounds of the UK underground.
